Art Nouveau German pair of hand painted porcelain vases/ 1890-1920 德國 Royal Bonn 新藝術對瓶

A fine and stunning Art Nouveau German pair of hand painted porcelain vases , made by the renowned manufactory of Royal Bonn and dating from around 1900. 

The Art Nouveau movement took inspiration from nature to produce innovative designs. Line was very important in Art Nouveau design, the outlines of images and objects were central to the Art Nouveau aesthetic.
The vases are formed with round bottle shaped bodies and are decorated with the beautifully painted scenes, making them an exact pair.
The conforming circular necks, rims and bases feature gilt highlights, completing the overall look. The backs of the bodies are gilt and feature incised with floral motifs. 
The underside of each vase is signed ‘ H. WICHARZ’. The underside with Royal Bonn factory mark for the early 20th Century.

Royal Bonn 於1836年,創立於德國的波昂。 
在當時,Royal Bonn皆創作高品質的瓷器,也因此Royal Bonn風靡於歐洲的貴族、上層階級。 此對Royal Bonn寶瓶為『新藝術』時期的作品。 
盛行於1880-1910的新藝術,為線條與花卉的歌頌者。 
此時期作品的設計靈感,皆來自於大自然、並注重純淨的色彩。 
最早提出新藝術的美學主張的 William Morris曾說: 
「手工匠人創造的一切,都使人得到美好的享受,工匠即藝術家, 藝術家即工匠,手工技藝是最高的藝術。」 
新藝術最重要的風格特性,就是充滿有活力、波浪形和流動的線條。 
而此對作品,透過充滿曲線及純淨的金絲雀黃瓶身、 由畫師 H. WICHARZ,以細膩的手繪工藝, 描繪著19世紀的生活景象。
